FUTA VC arrested for hitting staff with car.


‎The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, has‎ reportedly been arrested by the Ondo state for hitting a staff of the institution with his car.

According to the reports, the victim, Abiodun Ademola Atunbi , who is a member of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the ‎institution, was hit at the main campus of the school at Oba'nla in Akure on Monday, November 28.

Punch reports that members of staff were reportedly gathered together to pray when the incident occurred.

An officer from the Okuta Elerinla Police Station is reported to have arrested Prof. Daramola not long after the accident took place.

Other members of staff aggrieved by the situation reportedly staged a protest in the school, with some setting up a bonfire. The situation is made worse by the fact that the VC and the members of staff have been having misunderstandings with many calling for his removal.
